  History

"Growing up (our father) gave us two important principles tol ive by - love and protect your family and support your community, and that has always been our commitment." recalls John Pambianchi.

"As most of you know, Pamby Motors started as a small body shop on Bailey Avenue, some 50 years ago. While our business has grown, we will never forget the employees, friends and relatives who helped us along the way, especially our uncles Harry, Otto, Leo and Turk."

Otto Pambianchi, Matty's brother, 83 years old, has worked with the company for 49 years and continues to do so. He remembers how the business was named. "The story I got," he said "was that when Matty was in service (during the second World War) he was stationed down South. The other servicemen with names like Smith or Jones were mostly from Southern small town. They had never seen a Northeasterner, no less an Italian-American. They found Pambianchi hard to pronounce, so at first they called him 'Damn Yankee' Eventually, it got changed to Pamby.'"
